Norman Crighton

Having been involved with the investment trust and closed-end fund industries for over 30 years Mr Crighton has extensive experience within these sectors. Starting his career as an investment banker, soon running teams within major investment banks he then moved on to the buy-side, managing a portfolio of closed-end funds for institutional investors on a long and hedged basis. In 2011 he started to join the board of several closed-end funds and has since sat on many boards of funds and trading companies, overseeing restructurings, wind downs, as well as IPOs. He has expertise, and a particular interest in ESG issues.

Mr Crighton is also the Chairman of Weiss Korea Opportunity Fund and AVI Japan Opportunity Trust.

Guy Heald

Mr. Heald has spent most of his career in banking, not only specialising in markets, but also in general management positions overseeing all aspects of banking, including lending. He worked in London, New York and Tokyo and has an extensive knowledge of companies needs for financing and managing interest rate, liquidity and foreign exchange risks. During his career he worked for Brown Shipley, Chemical Bank and HSBC where he held senior positions including Head of Global Markets and Chief Executive Office at HSBC Japan. After leaving banking in 2003 he has served as an adviser, non-executive director and trustee of several charities as well as starting a number of successful family companies of his own. The SME market is of particular interest to him, specifically the challenges facing companies in their pursuit for growth, as he invests in venture and growth capital himself.

Marlene Wood

Mrs. Wood is a chartered accountant with a broad range of experience in both the LSE listed and public sectors. She is currently a non-executive director and Chair of the Audit Committee for GCP Student Living plc and Home REIT plc.

Until 2019, she was Deputy Chair and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Scottish Funding Council for Further and Higher Education. Mrs. Wood spent twenty years with the Miller Group, a major UK property business, in leadership roles across property and construction. Mrs. Wood is currently non executive director and treasurer for One Parent Families Scotland charity
